Armed Security Guard License Course – October 21, 2026

Course Information

This course fulfills the requirements you need in order to apply for a license as an Armed Security Guard in the state of Utah. It is 12 hours in length. The first 6 hours are in the classroom with a final examination at the end. You will spend the last 6 hours at the gun range, where you must pass the live fire pistol qualification to pass the course.

Having completed the Unarmed Security Guard course or holding an active Utah Unarmed Security Guard license is a prerequisite for the Armed Security Guard course.

Where to report: All attendees report to our South Salt Lake City office at 8:00 AM, located at 60 Claybourne Ave S, South Salt Lake, UT 84115

You will need to bring the following items to class:

• Your industry standard firearm (UNLOADED)
• At least 2 magazines for your firearm (UNLOADED)
• A holster made to fit your specific firearm
• A magazine pouch
• Duty belt or belt capable of supporting your holstered firearm and magazine pouch
• At least 150 rounds of FMJ/target ammunition for your firearm
• Eye and ear protection
