Armed Security Guard license Course May 5 2026
**Having completed the Unarmed Security Guard course or holding an active Utah unarmed Security Guard license is a prerequisite for the Armed Security Guard course. This course fulfills the requirements you need in order to apply for a license as an Armed Security Guard in the state of Utah. It is 12 hours in length. The first 6 hours are in the classroom with a final examination at the end. You will spend the last 6 hours at the gun range where you will have to pass the live fire pistol qualification to pass the course. You will need to bring the following items to the class: • Your industry standard firearm (UNLOADED) • At least 2 magazines for your firearm (UNLOADED) • A holster that was made to fit your specific firearm • A magazine pouch • Duty belt or belt capable of supporting your holstered firearm and magazine pouch • At least 150 rounds of FMJ/target ammunition for your firearm • Eye and Ear protection The first portion of the course is held at our South Salt Lake City Office.
